Julie

Dental Hygienist

Julie has been a dental hygienist at West Des Moines Dental Center for over 25 years. She was born and raised in Norfolk, Nebraska and later moved to the Des Moines area to attend Des Moines Area Community College, where she earned her associate degree in dental hygiene in 1999. Julie also serves on the advisory board for DMACC’s dental hygiene program.

Julie loves her profession and values the relationships she builds with her patients. She enjoys helping patients feel comfortable by getting to know them, sharing laughs and supporting them as they improve and maintain their overall dental health.

Outside of the office, Julie enjoys yoga, long-distance walks, watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Pittsburg Steelers football teams, attending church, and spending time with her husband, Pat, and their two children, Brooke and Ty.

Sara

Dental Hygienist

Sara has been a vital part of our West Des Moines Dental Center hygiene program. She graduated from DMACC in 2004 and has been here ever since. Outside of the office Sara enjoys biking, hiking, visiting Colorado, and spending time with her husband Adam and two Daughters.

Emily

Dental Hygienist

Emily became a part of our team in 2019. She was born and raised in Des Moines and has lived here for the majority of her life. Emily graduated from DMACC for Dental Hygiene in May 2018. Emily loves interacting with patients and helping them achieve a healthy beautiful smile.

Emily loves spending time with her two daughters, family, and friends. She enjoys yoga, gardening, reading, and traveling.

Sarah

Dental Hygienist

Sarah feels so blessed to have landed a spot on the West Des Moines Dental team in 2025 after moving from Scottsdale, AZ. She lived there for 12 years, but is originally from San Jose, CA. After falling in love with an Iowan, they got married and made the decision to continue their journey in Des Moines. Sarah enjoys cooking for family and friends, watching sports, and listening to live music whenever possible.

Sarah has been a Dental Hygienist since 2017 and is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to her patients. Recognizing that many individuals may experience anxiety in this setting, she prioritizes creating a safe and supportive environment that enables open communication and education. She thrives at being a collaborative team member to assist her amazing colleagues to contribute to the success of her team, ensuring that we provide the highest level of care to our patients.

Hoda

Dental Hygienist

Hoda joined the West Des Moines Dental Center team in 2025. She was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, where she developed a deep appreciation for culture, creativity, and community. She earned a bachelor’s degree in French literature before moving to the United States more than a decade ago to begin a new chapter of her life.

She later graduated from DMACC with a degree in Dental Hygiene and is proud to be part of the team at West Des Moines Dental Center. Hoda takes pride in helping patients feel comfortable and cared for, approaching her work with both skill and compassion.

Outside of work, Hoda enjoys painting and appreciates art in many forms. She also loves traveling and biking. Because she is multilingual, she occasionally volunteers as a translator. At home, she enjoys cooking and relaxing with her husband, Dan.
